Do not Drink Tea While Breastfeeding Baby
IF you currently breastfeeding a baby, best avoid the first intake, caffeine intake, such as tea, coffee, chocolate ataup. Because the caffeine content will participate contained in the milk consumed by your baby.
Drinking coffee, tea, or eat chocolate while breastfeeding can lead to accumulation of caffeine and symptoms such as insomnia and irritability in infants, according to pediatric experts warn.
"This is because babies can not metabolize or remove the caffeine well," said Dr. Ruth Lawrence of the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Rochester, New York, United States.
Caffeine is found in products such as coffee, tea, and chocolate, including soft drinks and energy drinks.
Dr. Lawrence basing its response to the scientific and medical evidence relating to exposure to caffeine on the baby to feed breast milk (ASI).
"Usually a mother, especially if he is breastfeeding, are reminded to limit your intake of caffeine," says Dr. Lawrence.
He was advised, after giving birth, the mother should try to avoid the accumulation of caffeine in the body.
Dr Lawrence made this comment in the Journal of Caffeine, a journal review of Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.
